I'm a woman of God. At least I try to be. My identity is found in Christ.
All those words are true, and yet I find myself questioning them. Over the years I've heard the words 'find your identity in Christ' and 'woman of God' over and over again. I've seen them rebranded and repackaged dozens of different ways, but ultimately they can be the catalyst for making me question if I really am a 'woman of God', or 'In Christ' cause half the time I have NO IDEA who I am. And if you don't know your personal identity, let alone Christ's then who/what are you? Besides, what does that even mean? How do you find your identity in Christ? How do you identify as a 'woman of God'

Recently I went with my kids to see ‘100% Wolf’ (which we enjoyed by the way), but before the movie began they played a short Bugs Bunny clip and it suddenly occurred to me that not only did I feel sorry for Yosemite Sam (and identify with him) it also occurred to me that Bugs Bunny is a complete jerk (that isn't to say that Sam doesn't have his faults, but still).
Have you ever had that knee jerk reaction of panic, hurt and frustration when a treasured possession breaks? I know I have, and its hardly surprising if you’ve reacted in kind. It’s normal even. Try as we might, we wrap up so much of our identity in the stuff, so it’s understandable that when our stuff is stripped away or damaged we feel like a piece of ourselves has been chipped away too,
It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed with the expectations that have been placed on our lives. I know I feel this way often in my own life, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you felt much the same way. It doesn’t matter if the the expectations are real or perceived we feel them, and often we don’t measure up.
