Given multiple conversations I’ve had over the last few days it’s pretty evident to me that I’m not the only person who has somehow come to believe that they have to be experts at things before they’ve even had a chance to actually try the thing for the first time.

As we christen a new year all the common tropes will come out ‘new year, new you’ the insistence for you to create goals, achieve new things, be more. As though there is something wrong with you or as if the only time you can make a positive change is when the year ends and starts anew.
Christmas is full of so many incredible things, not least of them getting to spend time with the people we love.

November. It looks like November. BUT, Advent starts early this year which means I have to get my Christmas stuff sorted early.
Thirty six years and counting. Thirty six years since my Mum and Dad became parents for the first time.
Thirty four years since I became a big sister. Time has, is, and will pass, and with each year (even 2020) there are gifts worth celebrating, and not just the earrings my husband got me! |
